England’s former Anglo-Saxon capital, dense with listed buildings, conservation-area rules and cathedral-close terraces.
Southampton
A working port city with everything from Victorian terraces near the docks to newer estates on its outskirts.
Portsmouth
England’s only island city. Tight terraced streets and a naval heritage that shapes a fair few roof shapes and access points.
Basingstoke
Mostly newer housing stock from the town’s post-1960s expansion, generally the most straightforward roofs we survey.
Lyndhurst
The unofficial capital of the New Forest since William the Conqueror made it a royal hunting ground in 1079. National park planning rules apply to most installations here.

This isn’t a complete list. If you’re anywhere in Hampshire and don’t see your town below, get in touch, we almost certainly still cover it. Properties inside the New Forest National Park boundary, around Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst, New Milton and Hythe, sometimes need planning permission for solar that wouldn’t otherwise be required, and the same applies to listed buildings and conservation areas in Winchester’s cathedral close. We check this as standard for every survey, not after you’ve already committed.
